Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to drinking water, as stated by municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has increased attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in delivering protection systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.
